Our Imagination Chapter

Do you remember hearing about Caine's Arcade? Caine was the young boy in East LA who created a cardboard arcade at his dad's store. The Imagination Foundation is the non-profit organization that came about after the explosive success of the video Caine's Arcade. The group had 30 pilot chapters all across the world in 2014. They added 100 more for 2015. Franklin Elementary is one of those chapters! This is a natural fit after our involvement with SciGirls, the Hour of Code, and our makerspace.

Our chapter involves more than 500 Franklin Elementary School students. We are a group of makers, tinkerers, engineers, designers, thinkers, artists, scientists, inventors, coders, readers, and Minecraft players! We love to create!  Gen Imagination is our movement to facilitate learning through creative play.  We have a club of fifth graders that meets during school on Fridays, but we also do several activities with more than 500 students.

Join us on this amazing journey!
